Universal Modular Open Joint Assessment — a simple, builder-first checklist to evaluate whether a humanoid project has: Mind (capable behaviors), Body (physical performance), and Soul (real openness + reproducibility).
UMOJA is meant to be a common language for open humanoid builders. It’s not “perfect benchmarking” — it’s a shared bar for seriousness, reproducibility, and basic capability.
For now, this page is a checklist. Later it becomes a standard: video proofs + logs + reproducible builds.
Basic intelligence: can the robot do common-sense tasks reliably?
“Science is what we understand well enough to explain to a computer. Art is everything else we do.”
Mechanical reality: strength, stability, speed, and endurance.
“Fatigue makes cowards of us all.”
No “open-washing”: can an independent builder replicate it?
“Given enough eyeballs, all bugs are shallow.”
This is a quick readout so builders can say “we’re UMOJA-ready” without long debates. (For now it’s local-only; later we’ll standardize video proofs + logs.)
Suggested bar for “UMOJA Certified (v0)”: /5 in each category.
